Tip Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy based on Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM-TERS) is applied to study the structure of diverse nanoscale energetic and pharmaceutical composites. AFM-TERS investigations of nanoscale CL-20/HMX co-crystals demonstrate that CL-20/HMX surfaces consist of a molecular layer of HMX.
