The study was carried out in an attempt to explore the impact of using Quizlet on the vocabulary use of Grade 12 students at an upper secondary school in Hanoi. Specifically, it aimed to achieve two key objectives: (1) to examine the extent to which students in the experimental group improved their vocabulary use through Quizlet-based instruction, and (2) to investigate students’ perceptions of using this tool to enhance their vocabulary learning. To fulfill the above-mentioned objectives, a mixed-methods approach was utilized with a quasi-experimental design in which an experimental group (32 students) and a control group (30 students) were chosen to participate in the study within 10 weeks. Pre-tests and post-tests were administered to both groups to evaluate changes in vocabulary use, particularly in writing. Additionally, structured questionnaires were completed by the experimental group, and a semi-structured interview was conducted with five students from this group to explore their learning experiences. Following the analysis of the above sources of data, the researcher has drawn some important conclusions. Firstly, the result of Pretest and Post-test between the experimental group and the control group demonstrated that using Quizlet in learning English vocabulary has positively improved students’ performance, especially the use of vocabulary in writing skills. Secondly, the result showed that almost all participants recognized the positivity of applying Quizlet to improve their vocabulary use and its effects on students’ motivation in learning vocabulary.
