Chapter 1 introduces the research background, significance, objectives, and scope, concluding with the thesis outline. Chapter 2 discusses the references, traffic noise sources, measurement methods, and impacts of traffic noise on people. Chapter 3 establish research hypotheses for the thesis, and discuss factors affecting people's satisfaction with road traffic noise. Chapter 4 describes the types of equipment, measurement methods, and techniques used in the research. Chapter 5 provides results of measuring road traffic noise, results of surveying people's opinions on this noise issue, as well as results on the correlation between people's level of annoyance about the traffic noise. Chapter 6 summarizes the key findings and offers suggestions for future research directions.
