Proton Exchange Membrane Water Electrolysis (PEMWE) is a promising technology for large-scale industrial hydrogen production. However, it faces limitations due to mass transport and charge transfer issues in the Porous Transport Layer (PTL) and the Catalyst Layer (CL) on the anode side. The first part of this study focuses on analyzing the effects of PTL porosity and pore size, which are crucial for the efficient transport of water, gases, and electrons.
